Intersting quote in an ad taken out in the Hub last Sunday...
"All truth passes through three stages. First, it is ridiculed. Second, it is violently opposed. Third, it is accepted as being self-evident." -Arnold Schopenhauer (Yay for hardcore German last names, lol!)

I think you mean Arthur Schopenhauer, 19th century German philosopher? Eh, he was very ... ick. Big woman-hater, nasty pessimist. He had a huge impact on Nietzsche and he is a father of the modern "school of unlicensed freedom of choice." No, I am not getting this off the top of my head :)
Click and scroll down, he's the first thinker profiled
Alas, not all people with hard-core German last names are worthy individuals. Only me and Betsy, and your relatives, and the former Cardinal Ratzinger :)

Oh yes, PS, just curious, what was this advertisment for? And placed in our charmingly rustic Hub-Times, no less! The guy who took out the ad has been doing some heavy duty reading, I guess ... or else he just has easy access to a volume of Familiar Quotations ;)
