BLAH

Well, now I've got/am getting whatever flu/feels-like-someone-is-standing-on-my-lung disease everyone was passing around at home/work two weeks ago.

I sound like I'm talking partially underwater.

Yay.

:gasp for air:

But Bible study was good tonight! I really need to start posting on that again soon, our new book we're using is great.

Welcome to America, now eat Jello

After getting my email alert that Mr. Webster had updated his blog (yay, love this feature), I (of course) followed the post on to Illinois Schools Canceling Christmas and Halloween to Avoid Offending Muslims on Free Republic.

First things first:

Still have a sister in elementary school, and trust me, the only offensive thing left in "Christmas" parties in public schools is if you are H2O intolerent crybaby leftist and are thus easily offended by pictures of snowflakes/snowmen/children throwing snowballs, etc. (Or if you are the parent/sibling of a child that comes home hopped up on sugar from said party... But that's an entirely different rant.)

There's no baby Jesus, no arch angels, no star. Pretty much, nothing CHRISTMAS in there "Christmas" parties.

So what is there to be offended by? Happy children? "Allah, no, proctect us from the happy American youngsters! They make my eyes burn and my soul cry out to you!"

...S E R I O U S L Y here people.

I mean, most school districts switched to calling Christmas break "Winter Break" ages ago.

And I'm completely at a loss as to why Muslims hate Halloween- because if it's the All Hallow's Eve semi-Christian roots they're bothered by, they seem to know a heck of a lot more about Halloween then most Americas who are running around in costume.

Grant it, I've seen some pretty trashy get ups in younger and younger grades the past few years. (And this is the UNDER high school crowd.)

Unless high sugar intake levels violates some Islamic law I know nothing of?

On a more serious note, my email box also contained this article by Robert Spencer, the same guy who wrote The Politically Incorrect Guide to Islam (and the Crusades) a while back (which I recommend reading- they whole PIG series is great).

As summerized at the top of the article:

The following article by Robert Spencer deals with the Muslim persecution of Christians and documents how this persecution is rooted in -- and mandated by -- Islamic law. This article is a segment of a series being run as part of our nation-wide campus effort, “Islamo-Fascism Awareness Week,” which will be held on 200 university and college campuses on October 22-26. Themes of the week’s events will include the oppression of women and homosexuals in Islam -- as part of a comprehensive focus on all the victims of Islamo-Fascist Jihad. Islamo-Fascism Awareness Week is also a national effort to counter the lies of the academic Left, which seeks to deny the evil -- and even the very existence -- of our enemy in the terror war. In this way, Islamo-Fascism Awareness Week hopes to educate American students and to enable them to rally to defend their country.

(L O V E the poster by the way. Simple and to the point.)

Followed on to IFAW's website and yay! Hillsdale is on the list of schools participating in this! (Hopefully, this is a yearly tradition and I can- God willing!- participate next fall.)

I think I may be getting back into the hang of this blogging thing again, after all. ;) ;)

Laura Ingraham on the Today Show

"As Ingraham criticizes networks like NBC for running too much sensationalized footage, NBC minimizes its shot of Ingraham and split screens it with footage of Britney Spears"

Unfortunately I missed Laura when she was here a few Saturdays ago (Sat. is always my closing night and my brother had home coming, so my mom couldn't get for me), but I can't wait to read the book.

I miss hearing Laura/AJ etc in the mornings- she usually starts after I have to be at work.

(Funny side story being my brother's got some strain of the flu right now and since he was home from school, my mother made him listen to talk radio all day... Love my family, lol!)

...Also, ew, Britney Spears, cover your eyes!

The cool weather hits, and I return to blogging...

Not that anyone even noticed I was gone for three months, but I am (tentatively) back.

Bible study's started back up, so Weds is likely to become my blogging day once again. We just finished Mark (and had some spectacular weather effects for the "forgive them Father, they know not what they do" passage) after start Battlefield of the Mind next week. (Looking forward to that.)

My work schedule became more consistent the last few months, but unfortunately the consistency stole my Laura/Rush/Sean time with it. (How out of date I've become with political things lately is shameful, honestly.)

Also, family drama ensued. Yay.

Things while I was gone...

(Excuse the pic quality, my phone wasn't on the right settings for what I was photographing, lol. User error and all that.)

My mother, sister and I went the the Sean Hannity Freedom Alliance concert in Cincinnati a few months back. Aside from the fact that is was 100 degrees and 100% humidity, the whole day was AWESOME! (With an added bonus on good looking Marines in full dress uniform at the concert... Yum!) Hadn't seen Lee Greenwood in concert in many, many years... An Lord, does God Bless the USA still bring tears to my eyes!

Also, I want Indiana plates. (I don't necessarily want to move to Indiana, but their plates are fabulous. Why are all our plates ugly????)

Anyone offended by the word GOD on it? Because that would MAKE MY DAY! :)

My best friend of forever, Adam, also joined the Army (can't remember if I mentioned this before) and has now graduated both basic training and his next stage of training to become a Explosive Ordnance Disposal Specialist (makes perfect since for a guy who loved LEGOS, etc when we were pint-sized, yes?). For some reason, even though I can't even describe how proud I am of him, this career path will never make me sleep easier at night.

He goes from Alabama to Florida for more extensive training this week. Hopefully, I can either go down and visit him there in the next few months or maybe crash back in my old stomping ground with him/his family when he gets time off for Christmas. (Assuming he isn't called up any time between now and then...)

I keep telling him he's not allowed to go off and potentially get blown up without me getting to see him again, so we'll see what works out there. ;) ;)

Much as Jon Stewart can annoy me, the Hellary video was too good to pass up. Also, now that I know how to post videos on here, I'll probably be doing that a lot. Love it when tech stuff is made easy for HTML-retarded people such as myself!

Hillary Clinton Showcasing Her

I would comment on this... But it really stands for itself, don't you think?
